Last week, the culinary world lost its soul food matriarch, Ms. Sylvia Woods. Woods whose Harlem restaurant was best known for its signature fried chicken, collard green and macaroni and cheese died of Alzheimer’s disease at her home.
Bravo TV star, Chef Roble remembered her recently for her contribution to the community and for being a culinary role model.
“It is her shoulders that I and many other young blacks in the culinary industry stand on. I would be fortunate to live to see a career that has half the impact and reach Sylvia’s had. So tonight in honor of Ms. Sylvia I’ll be opening up another can of her collard greens.”
Chef Roble made a splash on his hit reality-show this past year featuring such high-profile guests as Vanessa L. Williams, Kandi Burruss and friend to the stars, Ms. Bevy Smith.
