From a producer of JACKASS and BAD GRANDPA, this hidden camera comedy follows two best friends as they go on a cross-country road trip full of hilarious, inventive pranks, pulling its real-life audience into the mayhem.
Bad Trip also stars Eric André and Michaela Conlin. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and produced by André, Jeff Tremaine, David Bernad, and Ruben Fleischer.
Last night, BET Networks celebrated the season two premiere of its Lena Waithe and Halle Berry executive produced show BOOMERANG, at Paramount Studios. Show cast members Tequan Richmond, Tetona Jackson, Lala Milan, Dime Davis, Leland B. Martin, Brittany Inge and RJ Walker were in attendance along with BET President Scott Mills.
Following the success of Waithe’s BOOMERANG first season, the half-hour subversive, smart, serialized comedy that is fielded by romance, friendship, gender politics and more returns for season two.
The original cast are back to deal with the ramifications of Simone and Bryson’s breakup and how it effects the group’s friendship. Throughout the season, each of our main characters: Simone (Tetona Jackson), Bryson (Tequan Richmond), Crystal (Brittany Inge), Ari (Leland Martin), Tia (Lala Milan) and David (RJ Walker) look inward to find out who they truly are while discovering that together, they’re growing apart.
Guest stars for season two will include Jaleel White, Joey Bada$$,Walter Emmanuel Jones and Kim Wayans.

S&A is reporting that TV, film and stage actress—SHERYL LEE RALPH—will be starring in ABC’s upcoming series Harlem’s Kitchen.
The one-hour drama will focus on Ellis Rice (Delroy Lindo), the executive chef of a fine dining restaurant in Harlem whose business is upended when an unexpected death exposes long-buried family secrets. Ralph will reportedly star as the Rice family matriarch, CC.
Veteran actor Miguel Nunez will also star as Marco, an undocumented immigrant who works at the restaurant as a talented line cook and regards Ellis as a mentor and a surrogate father.
Ralph is best known for her role as Deena Jones in the iconic 80s Broadway musical Dreamgirls. She has also appeared in such films as The Mighty Quinn, The Flintstones and Sister Act 2 as well as such TV shows as Moesha, FAM and most recently Ray Donovan, Claws and MacGyver.
Atlanta’s own Actor’s Express presents Oscar winner Tarrell Alvin McCraney’s acclaimed drama The Brothers Size beginning March 11-April 11.

Netflix has released the official trailer for it’s newest dramedy Uncorked starring Mamoudou Athie, Courtney B. Vance and Niecy Nash. It premieres on March 27.
Fueled by his love for wine, Elijah (Athie) enrolls in a course to become a master sommelier, an elite designation given only to a handful who are able to pass its notoriously difficult exam. It’s a dream that upends the expectations of his father, Louis (Vance), who insists Elijah take over the popular Memphis BBQ joint that’s been passed down from father to son since its inception. Elijah struggles with the demands of school and a new relationship, while Louis wrestles with the feelings of his son rejecting the family business until a tragedy forces both of them to slow things down.
Uncorked is written and directed by Prentice Penny, executive producer, director and writer of HBO’s Insecure.
The stars aligned last night in Memphis, TN for the Red Carpet Premiere of Apple TV +’s The Banker. The film’s stars Nia Long, Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie were all in attendance along with Apple TV+ execs and more. The dazzling event took place at the National Civil Rights Museum.
As previously mentioned, The Banker centers on revolutionary businessmen Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson), who devise an audacious and risky plan to take on the racially oppressive establishment of the 1960s by helping other African Americans pursue the American dream. Along with Garrett’s wife Eunice (Long), they train a working class white man, Matt Steiner (Nicholas Hoult), to pose as the rich and privileged face of their burgeoning real estate and banking empire – while Garrett and Morris pose as a janitor and a chauffeur. Their success ultimately draws the attention of the federal government, which threatens everything the four have built.
The Banker opens in theaters on March 6 and the Apple TV+ platform on March 20.

The project is inspired by the book, On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker, which was written by Walker’s great-great-granddaughter A’Lelia Bundles. The Netflix original series is the first time Walker’s story has been showcased on the big screen.
Against all odds, Walker overcame post-slavery racial and gender biases, personal betrayals, and business rivalries to build a ground-breaking brand that revolutionized black haircare, as she simultaneously fought for social change.
Self Made also features Blair Underwood as her husband C.J. Walker, Tiffany Haddish as her daughter Lelia, Carmen Ejogo as Walker’s business rival Addie Munroe, Garrett Morris as Walker’s father-in-law, Kevin Carroll as her longtime lawyer Freeman Ransom and Bill Bellamy as Ransom’s cousin Sweetness.

Open, explores the complications of the open marriage of Cameron (Keith Robinson, “Saints & Sinners,” “Dreamgirls”) and Wren (Essence Atkins, “Ambitions,” “Marlon”), who have been married for eight years, although, the last two years of their matrimony have been open. They set rules as boundaries to assure a healthy open relationship, however they quickly learn that rules applied to the art of emotion will often be broken.
Open also stars iconic TV, film and stage actress Jasmine Guy (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Quad,” “A Different World”), Matt Cedeño (“Power,” “Ambitions”) and Marquita Goings (“American Soul,” “Tales”). It is written and directed by Cas Sigers-Beedles and produced by Nina Holiday Entertainment and Class and Sass Promotions.

Open is Sigers-Beedles third television project with BET. She was the writer for the network’s recent romantic comedy Angrily Ever Afterstarring Jasmine Burke as well as the holiday comedy T’was the Chaos Before Christmas starring Sherri Shepherd. T’was is also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture (Television).
Beedles is also one of the masterminds behind the Reel Divas Initiative along with Terri J. Vaughn and Ty Johnston-Chavis. REVOLT TV announces an all-new season of Short & Fresh, a monthly anthology series featuring short films rooted in Hip Hop culture created by a diverse range of rising filmmakers. The network is celebrating its return with a jam-packed episode in partnership with the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), a renowned group of film critics spotlighting black excellence in film. REVOLT and AAFCA collaborated to curate the premiere, which features short films Office Sweats, Royal T-ype, Know Me So Well, and Drive Slow.
“The mission statement of Short & Fresh has always been to identify and spotlight the next generation of rising filmmakers, so there’s natural synergy with AAFCA, a long-established champion for the film community,” says Jonathyn Pankratz, Vice President of Programming at REVOLT. “We’re excited to partner with AAFCA to shine an even bigger spotlight as our network continues to serve as the platform for emerging talent in the Hip Hop community.”
