I had the pleasure on Thursday afternoon of talking to rising filmmaker Kirk Henriques and actress Jasmine Burke about their new film “Brazilian Wavy.” The indie project, which premieres at this year’s BronzeLens Film Festival, follows a socially awkward young man- from his humble beginnings as an unsuccessful inventor to his unlikely rise and breakthrough with his own hair product that makes him the Mike Jordan of hair.
“Brazilian Wavy” also stars Barry Floyd of “BET’s The Game,” Danielle Deadwyler from “Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots” as well as social media sensation Kountry Wyane, comedian Lamont King and newcomer Celeste Seda. The film was shot entirely in Atlanta and is Henriques’ first official project under his Maroon Works film company. Check out the teaser below and pictures from the interview which will air during my “UPFRONT” radio program next Saturday, August 20 at 9 a.m. EST on Atlanta’s Jazz 91.9 WCLK.
