Please don’t attempt to adjust your computer screen and NO this is not some type of a cruel joke. Deadline is reporting that Steve Harvey has been invited back to host the 2016 Miss Universe Pageant.
The popular host of Family Feud and The Steve Harvey Show made headlines Sunday evening when he announced the wrong winner during the Miss Universe Pageant. Harvey called out “Miss Colombia” when he actually should have said “Miss Philippines.” He came back on stage and confessed his error and then reannounced the real winner. Both the crown and sash were removed from Miss Colombia and given to Miss Philippines amidst protesting from the audience. The whole scenerio played out on live television and Harvey has since apologized to both of the ladies and the press.
Well, now it appears that because of his “remorseful apologies” Harvey has been asked to come back for a second chance. Reportedly, Mark Shapiro, Chief Content Office at WME/ING told CBS Radio that Harvey will be allowed to host next year’s show.
“Steve Harvey did a great job. He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. … I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”
Looks like there’s a silver lining to this dark cloud after all!
CONGRATS STEVE!
