Grammy winning-gospel music icon, BeBe Winans is bring his life story to the stage in a brand new musical titled, “Born for This: The BeBe Winans Story.” The singer-songwriter made the official announcement last night in Atlanta during the Alliance Theatre’s Taste of the Season. It’s an annual preview of all the theatre company’s shows that will premiere during the next season. Winans is teaming up with Charles Randolph-Wright, director of “Motown the Musical,” for the new production.

“Born for This” follows BeBe’s journey toward self-discovery. After he and his sister CeCe Winans become stars on Jim and Tammy Faye Baker’s Praise the Lord Network, BeBe must learn to balance his desire for success with his true calling. BeBe’s nephew, Juan Winans will portray him in the show along with the hilariously funny, Kirstin Wyatt as the flamboyant televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. “Born for This” will debut on the Alliance Theatre stage April 13-May 15, 2016.
