The Black Women Film Network (BWFN) hosted its annual “Untold Stories Luncheon” Friday afternoon at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The private affair is the organization’s signature event that honors African-American mavericks in the film, television and the entertainment industry.

This year’s luncheon was hosted by the ever so funny, Jonathan Slocumb with award presentations going to Tia Powell (President of Oz Publishing, Founder’s Award), Logan Browning (Actress, “Hit The Floor,” Social Responsibility Award), Tomika DePriest (BWFN, Chairman’s Award), Georgia Production Partnership (Industry Award), Lamman Rucker (Actor, “The Man in 3B,” Performance Award), Shante Bacon (Founder 135th Street Agency,Creative Award), Robi Reed (Hollywood Casting Director,Trailblazer Award) and Will Packer (Filmmaker, Pinnacle Award).

Remarks were also given by the BWFN Founder, Sheryl Riley Gripper; BWFN Board Chair, Donald Woodard; and former BWFN Honoree and Director of Programming and Promo Planning for REVOLT, Jaunice Sills. There was also a special appearance by “Empire” actress and singer, V. Bozeman, who performed her smash hit single, “What is Love?
