Wendy Williams, the self-proclaimed “Queen of All Media” is gearing up to star in a one-hour long special chronicling her Broadway debut in the Tony-Award winning revival of Chicago. The untitled program will air on TVGN (formerly TV Guide Network) and is being executive produced by Williams’ media company, Wendy Williams Productions.
According to THR, the show will offer viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Williams preparing for the show beginning with her training and rehearsals all the way up to her dazzling opening night performance.
As previously reported, Chicago is Williams’ first attempt at singing and dancing live in a Broadway musical. She plays Cook County Jail’s Matron “Mama” Morton, the same character that was played by Queen Latifah in the 2002 film adaptation. Latifah earned an Oscar nomination for her larger-than-life performance. William’s will continue in the role for the next seven weeks.
Congrats again Wendy and looking forward to the special!
