Congratulations to actor Don Cheadle for winning a Golden Globe award last night. The multi-talented star of Showtime’s House of Lies won for Best Actor in a TV Comedy Series beating out other fellow nominees Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Louis C.K. (Louie), Matt LeBlanc (Episodes) and Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory).
Ben Affleck’s Argo won for Best Motion Picture edging out Django Unchained and Lincoln. However, Django’s Quentin Tarantino did score a win for Best Screenplay – Motion Picture and so did Christopher Waltz, who won for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role over his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Adele’s Skyfall won for Best Original Song while Daniel Day-Lewis’s portrayal as Lincoln beat out Denzel Washington for his role in Flight. Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and Halle Berry were there as show presenters.
Other highlights include former President Bill Clinton’s surprise introduction of Lincoln and Jodie Foster’s emotional acceptance speech about her sexuality. The veteran actress, who surprisingly acknowledged that she was gay, received the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
