Check out the official trailer for RESPECT starring Oscar-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson as the “Queen of Soul,” Aretha Franklin.

As previously reported, RESPECT follows the rise of Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom. It is also the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.

RESPECT also features an all-star cast including: Forest Whitaker as C.L. Franklin, Marlon Wayans as Ted White, Audra McDonald as Barbara Franklin, Marc Maron as Jerry Wexler, Tituss Burgess as Rev. Dr. James Cleveland, Kimberly Scott as Mama Franklin, Saycon Sengbloh as Erma Franklin, Hailey Kilgore as Carolyn Franklin, Tate Donovan as John Hammond, Heather Headley as Clara Ward, Skye Dakota Turner as Young Aretha and Mary J. Blige as Dinah Washington.

It is directed by Liesl Tommy and written by Tracey Scott Wilson. It is also produced by Harvey Mason Jr. and Scott Berstein.
