Versatile actor Dule Hill will tackle the life and legacy of music icon Nat King Cole in the new musical Lights Out: Nat King Cole. The show runs from February 5-March 17 at LA’s famed Geffen Playhouse.

In this electrifying exploration into the soul of an American icon, Tony and Olivier Award nominee Colman Domingo and Patricia McGregor imagine Nat “King” Cole as he faces the final Christmastime broadcast of his groundbreaking variety show and weighs the advice of his friend Sammy Davis Jr. to “go out with a bang.”

The show will include Cole’s hit songs like “Nature Boy,” “It’s a Good Day” and “Smile.” The show will also pay homage to the renowned performer who struggled to break through America’s color barrier in the early days of television.

Lights Out: Nat King Cole also features Hamilton star Daniel J. Watts as Sammy Davis Jr., Gisela Adisa as Eartha Kitt and Ruby Lewis as Peggy Lee. The musical is just of many tributes that will be taking place to commemorate Cole’s Centennial Birthday.
