UPDATE: Vanessa Bell Calloway, Vondie Curtis-Hall and more added to ‘Harriet’

The upcoming Harriet Tubman biopic HARRIET starring Broadway diva Cynthia Erivo has added more star power to its cast. Saints & Sinners actress Vanessa Bell Calloway along with Zackary Momoh, Deborah Ayorinde and veteran actor Vondie Curtis-Hall will join the film project directed by Kasi Lemmons.

According to S&A, Calloway will portray Harriet’s mother while Momoh will star as Harriet’s husband. Ayorinde and Curtis-Hall’s roles have yet to be revealed.

As previously reported, HARRIET will follow Tubman on her escape from slavery and subsequent missions to free dozens of slaves through the Underground Railroad in the face of growing pre-Civil War adversity. It also stars Leslie Odom Jr.Joe AlwynJennifer Nettles and Clarke Peters.

The screenplay was co-written by Lemmons and Gregory Allen Howard.
