CONGRATS goes to award winning music icon Jermaine Dupri. He will be inducted into the coveted Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 14, 2018. According to SingersRoom, Dupri is the second hip hop to be inducted.
“Man, look at God! Look at God! Look at God! Yo, I was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. I don’t know what else to say, said an excited Dupri on a social media video.
Dupri was responsible for creating Atlanta’s signature R&B and hip hop sounds during the 90s and 2000s through his now iconic So So Def label. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry including Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Usher, TLC, Xscape, Bow Wow and Da Brat.
Other Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees include Kool & the Gang, John Cougar Mellencamp, Alan Jackson, Steve Dorff, Bill Anderson and Allee Willis.
Candidates are eligible for induction after writing hit songs for at least 20 years.
