“Jingle Bells,” “Let It Snow” and “O’ Holy Night” are just a few of the holiday songs that were performed Monday night during the “5th Annual Caroling with Q Parker & Friends.” The festive event took place at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead and was hosted by Q Parker and his entire family.
Each Christmas, the 112 singer and his Q Parker Legacy Foundation (QPLF) partners with the National Black MBA Atlanta Chapter (NBMBAA) for an evening of music, food and fun with many of his celebrity friends. The guests of honor are residents of the Brighton Gardens of Buckhead, which offers assisted living, memory care and hospice care for seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other forms of memory loss.
This year’s roster of singers and songwriters included R&B Divas—Syleena Johnson (“The Christmas Song”) and Algebra (“Silent Night”). R&B crooners Montell Jordan (“White Christmas”) Kermit Quinn, (This Christmas”) and Lil G from Silk (“Someday at Christmas”) also performed along with groups Glamour (“Carol of the Bells”) and Day 26 (“Let It Snow”).
Gospel singers Ted Winn (“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”), Zebulon Ellis and Ann Connor (“Mary Did You Know”) performed along with Q Parker rising artists Sharon Moore (“Winter Wonderland”) and Marleen Thimas (“The First Noel”).
The highlight of the evening was Kelly Price‘s version of “O’Holy Night” which led to KeKe Wyatt‘s soul stirring “impromptu” performance of “Amazing Grace.” The ladies eventually invited Winn and Jordan to join in and had everyone on their feet worshiping and praising God. The evening closed out with all of the singers performing an encore of the Donny Hathaway classic, “This Christmas.”
