I had the pleasure of attending the “unofficial” afterparty for Janet Jackson‘s “State of the World Tour” that ended in Atlanta, GA this past Sunday night. The super fan experience took place at Atlanta’s Suite Food Lounge and included appearances by some of Janet’s dancers and band members including acclaimed drummer Lil John Roberts. There were also appearances by “Queen Sugar” star and Atlanta native Omar Dorsey and versatile actor Anthony Mackie.

Roberts is a music veteran that has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Janet and her brother Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder and the list goes on and on. I had a chance to interview him over the summer on #UPFRONT where we talk extensively about his amazing career and how he got started in music.

Other Atlanta notables in attendance included model and entrepreneur A Lady Named Pearl and singers Carmen Rodgers and Kameron Corvet.
