I am super excited to announce that my radio show #UPFRONT will feature exclusive interviews with the casts of Netflix’s “Dear White People” and the  upcoming film, “Everything, Everything.”

“Dear White People” premieres on Friday, April 28 and actually picks up where the acclaimed 2014 film by the same name left off. It follows a group of Winchester University’s students of color as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and activism in the millennial age. My featured guests include creator, writer and executive producer Justin Simien, Atlanta’s own Logan Browning, Marque Richardson and John Patrick Amedori.

“Everything, Everything” is a film adaptation of the popular teen book of the same name written by Nicole Yoon. It follows Maddy is a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who due to an illness cannot leave the protection of the hermetically sealed environment within her house. Olly, is the boy next door who won’t let that stop him from showing his love for her. My interview features Amandla Stenberg (Maddy), Anika Noni Rose (Maddy’s mother Dr. Whittier) and the film’s director Stella Meghie.  “Everything, Everything” opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, May 19th.

#UPFRONT will also talks to “Greenleaf” actress Kim Hawthorne (pictured above); AJC Video Journalist Ryon Horne about his Pulitzer Prize nominated film, “Doctors & Sex Abuse”; Kendrell Bowman about his upcoming musical, “An Evening with Phyllis Hyman” and celebrity psychotherapist Jennifer Lester about her new book, 14 Ways to Find Your Amazing: When Passion & Purpose Collide.

Look for these guests to appear on #UPFRONT shows beginning 4/29 and 5/6!

#UPFRONT airs on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. on Jazz 91.9 WCLK!
