Whoever said that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” must have had Evan Ross in mind. The triple threat performer is one of the newest faces of GAP’s 90s inspired Archive Re-Issue Collection and appears in an ad with a sleeveless shirt on just like his famous mother, Diana and sister Tracee Ellis Ross did back in the early 90s.

“It was incredible! They look like twins,” says Ross about his mother and sister’s ad. “But I do remember it being like one of the biggest things. My sister had lost her mind about it and my mom til this day still talks about how incredible it was.”

According to ESSENCE, Ross shares the spotlight with other offspring whose parents appeared in 90s GAP ads including Jam Master Jay‘s son DJ TJ Mizell. Legendary runway diva Naomi Campbell also appears in the campaign rocking the same shirt she modeled back in 1992.

Ross also told the magazine that his attitude and beliefs on fashion and style were shaped at an early age by his mother.  “I definitely beat to my own drum and wear what speaks to me more than anything else,” Ross told ESSENCE. “I remember when I was younger, in high school and I wore an outfit and someone said something like: ‘what are you wearing?’ and she [Diana Ross] was like, ‘you set the trend, you don’t follow it.'”
