John Legend + Andra Day party with the cast of ‘Underground’ [PHOTOS]

The cast of WGN’s “Underground” partied like rock stars on Saturday night during a private screening and celebration of its second season during the Sundance Film Festival. Executive producer and Oscar winning singer-songwriter John Legend joined cast members Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Aldis Hodge + show co-creator and executive producer Misha Green, director Anthony Hemingway and Executive producer Mike Jackson, for “Clips and Conversation.”

“Underground” struck a cord with audiences around the country and touched on some issues that are still relevant today including race, class, colorism and freedom. The event took place at the Riverhouse on Main and included special appearances by soul music superstar Andra DayAtlanta‘s LaKeith Stanfield, Before I Fall’s Medallion Rahimi, Adam Shapiro, The Mindy ProjectsXosha Roquemore, Insecure‘s Yvonne Orji and The Affair’s Joshua Jackson and actor Kevin Phillips.

Season two of the 10-episode, hour-long series follows an unremitting struggle for freedom within a divided America on the brink of civil war, each side vying to enact their own justice, and begs the question – Are you a Citizen or a Solider? Set in the aftermath of the Macon 7’s daring attempt to stage the greatest escape in history, this group of American heroes continues on their harrowing journey to freedom, with legendary abolitionist Harriet Tubman blazing the trail.

Lastly, a BIG CONGRATS goes out to the “Underground” stars, who will be picking up the Annual Cast Award at SCAD’s aTVfest for Outstanding Achievement in Television.  The event, which is presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design, will take place on Thursday, February 2nd in Atlanta, GA and will include first looks, extended sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes of the show. The cast and the show’s co-creator Misha Green will be in attendance and will stick around for a Q&A and panel discussion.
