Congrats to recent Golden Globe winner Donald Glover. He just inked a new overall deal with FX this week. According to THR, Glover will develop projects for FX and other networks + streaming services. He will also continue to write, produce, direct and star in “Atlanta,” which will not return until 2018. The show was a huge success for FX and also picked up a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical.
“Donald is a remarkable artist, effortlessly shifting from actor to writer, producer, director and musician to create one amazing project after another,” FX president of original programming and FX Productions Nick Grad. “Atlanta was just the beginning — the breakout comedy of the year and a series revered as much for its originality as its honest look at the experience of being aspiring, young and black in that legendary city. We’re proud to partner with Donald in an overall deal that will allow him to continue turning his creative vision into incredible television.”
Also look for Glover to appear in this summer’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” due out on July 7 and as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars project.
RC will keep you posted as these projects continue to develop!
