Oscar winning-actress Cher is teaming up with Lifetime for a made-for-television film about the Flint, Michigan water crisis titled, “FLINT.”
According to Deadline, the project will examine the events that led to the contamination of the city’s water supply with Cher portraying a resident whose family was seriously impacted. The beloved music diva will also serve as executive producer of the film alongside Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Katie Couric.
“FLINT” is written by Barbara Stepansky and is reportedly based on a February 2016 TIME magazine article, “The Toxic Tap” by Josh Sanburn. Production is slated to begin in the spring.
