CONGRATS to “Atlanta” actor Donald Glover. He picked up a Critics’ Choice Award during last night’s show for “Best Actor in a Comedy Series.” The 33-year-old entertainer stars as “Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks,” an ambitious college drop-out who returns to Atlanta to manage his estranged cousin, who suddenly becomes a hip hop star. The show was a huge success for FX and will return for a second season.
Other big winners included “Westworld” star Thandie Newton who won “Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series,” “American Crime Story” actress Regina King won for “Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series,” and Barry Jenkin‘s “Moonlight” picked up two awards including “Best Acting Ensemble” and Best Supporting Actor” for Mahershala Ali.
The highlight of the evening was seeing HTGAWM actress Viola Davis receive the very first #SeeHer Award presented by the Association of National Advertisers. She also walked away with the “Best Supporting Actress Award” for her role as “Rose” in “Fences.”
