The world renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre is coming back to Atlanta’s Fox Theatre February 15-19 and yours truly will have all the details.  I am happy to announce that I have been asked once again to be a part of the 2016-17 Ailey Circle and will provide you with key information regarding their highly anticipated Black History Month engagement.

Wednesday, February 15 is Atlanta’s Ailey Fan Night and tickets are available now for only $25 and $39. The Company is also anticipating a spectacular return with the world premiere of r-Evolution, Dream., staged by veteran Ailey dancer Hope Boykin, who was inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during a visit to Atlanta’s own National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

In addition to the world premiere, Ailey has launched “Destination Dance,” an initiative that offers diverse year-round programming, ranging from performances to dance classes to educational programs for students. “Destination Dance” is done in partnership with local arts, educational and civic organizations.

Lastly, don’t forget to watch TONIGHT’s PBS special on Ailey. It follows Conan O’Brien as he learns dance moves alongside Ailey students and Artistic Director Robert Battle. The show airs at 9 p.m. and is part of The Lincoln Center at the Movie series.

Stay tuned…
