It was all about Chilli Thursday night at Kontrol Magazine’s “Women of Style Power Dinner.” The Grammy Award-winning member of the iconic girl group—TLC was recognized by the publication as the consummate fashion and beauty icon. Kontrol’s creator and chief fashion stylist, Julian Lark, established the awards dinner a few years ago to honor various women in entertainment who are trailblazers in the realms of fashion, style and beauty.

A number of Chilli’s “sisters in song” came out to support her achievement including LaTavia Roberson (Destiny’s Child), Meelah Williams (702), LeLee Lyons (SWV) and Dondria. Also present were young ladies from Saving Our Daughters, a non-profit organization that partners celebrities like Chilli with teenage girls to help them take the power away from bullying, school violence and self-esteem slayers.

Chilli has always been applauded for her flawless chocolate skin tones, luxurious curly black hair and sculptured features. She has managed to maintain her girlish figure throughout the years and credits exercising and “clean eating” as the real secret to her success.

“It is all about what you eat. You can work out six or seven days a week but if you’re eating bread and heavy soups with creams then that can be a problem. When you work out and eat like that you won’t see results. So you have to change your diet and switch over to the clean side. You also have to put away certain things and it has to become a way of life,” said Chilli when we interviewed her in April at the Macy’s #GoYou event.

“The Women of Style Power Dinner” was sponsored by EFFEN Vodka.
