“For Better or Worse” actress and celebrated comedian Cocoa Brown recently presented her first annual ‘Wigs of Love’ Brunch this past weekend in Atlanta, GA. The event took place at the Suite Food Lounge and was hosted by media personality and breast cancer survivor Ebony Steele and “Match Made in Heaven” star Stevie Baggs.

Brown founded ‘Wigs of Love’ in 2014 as a means to provide custom wigs and premium hairpieces to women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and chemotherapy. The inaugural brunch honored five unique women who were nominated by their peers to receive a celebrity make over, a custom made wig and photo shoot. Brown came up with the idea after cleaning out her closet and finding boxes of wigs that she thought women dealing with cancer could benefit from using.

“We as women treat our hair as our crowns. It is a crucial part of who we are; our personalities and confidence are wrapped up in how our hair looks,” Brown says. “Our goal is to help women regain their confidence. Regain their crown of glory and realize they are not alone in this journey.”

In addition to the brunch, the honorees were treated to a number inspirational music performances including Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Kelly Price, Men at Large singer David Tolliver, R&B sensation Mishon as well as R. Kelly‘s daughter Arii Raye and Amber Lashae’. The professional photos of the ladies were also revealed and were received by a thunderous applause.

A number of Atlanta celebrities were in attendance included “Cutting It in the ATL” stars Dedra Allen and LaKenya Morris, “Match Made in Heaven” star Lola Robinson, the First Lady of Hip Rock Reigndrop Lopes and former “R&B Diva” star LaTavia Roberson.  Check out more photos from the event below:
