I had the pleasure of attending Social Media Day on the set of a new television drama “Bring Out the Lady” starring Draya Michele and Rob Riley. The private event took place at The Diamond Night Club of Atlanta and featured a Q&A with the stars along with executive producer Gina Caliste and director Nahala “Mr. Boomtown” Johnson. We also got a chance to sample a new line of adult beverages from Sweet Bitch Wines.

In “Bring Out the Lady,” the name of the game is elimination. One head, four contracts. A lot can happen in 24 hours especially when four delinquent damsels find themselves inside of Atlanta’s hottest nightclub with one thing in common…murder.

According to Caliste the show is heavily influenced by the game of chess and claims that every character is based off of a piece in the game. She also mentioned that they are taping six episodes with the hopes of being picked up by a major network and developing into a full series.

Rob Riley and Draya Michele are very excited to be working together again on “Bring Out the Lady.” The two were most recently seen in the romantic comedy, “The Perfect Match” and had a lot to say about their gritty, new roles.

“I play ‘Vegas’ and he owns this beautiful strip club. He also dabbles in some nefarious activity which will be revealed in the pilot,” said Riley to the room of Atlanta press.  “He’s a very intelligent guy that is also cunning and calculated and a step ahead of a lot of people that are trying to do him harm regardless of the nefarious activities he’s doing himself.”

Riley also revealed that the show will have a “who dunnit” situation which will take place during the pilot and carry viewers throughout the six episodes. He currently stars on VH1’s hit series “Hit the Floor” and most recently wrapped up production on the upcoming TV One Film, “Bad Dad Rehab,” starring Wesley Jonathan, Malik Yoba and Kandi Burruss.

Draya Michele plays Vegas’ wife, ‘Dodi Monroe’ or Miss Monroe as she refers to be called. It’s a character that the former “Basketball Wives” star says she is taking very seriously.

“I decided to be a part of the project because I want to take acting seriously. Coming from reality TV, there’s a lot of stereotypes that go along with it and I don’t want any job because I’m popular. I really want to book acting jobs because I work hard at this. I’m take acting classes and I’m very passionate about it.”

“Bring Out the Lady” also features some other familiar faces including “Being Mary Jane” actress Charmin Lee, “The Products of the American Ghetto” star Tasia Grant as well as “Saints & Sinners” actors Dawn Halfkenny and L. Warren Young.
