I had the pleasure of covering the May edition of Shanti Das‘ and Marlon Nichols‘ “ATL Live on the Park.” The monthly music event took place at historic Park Tavern on Tuesday evening and was part of Atlanta’s celebration for Funk Fest 2016 and the Atlanta Jazz Festivals 31 Days of Jazz.
Kendra Foster
The evening featured a variety of performances including Pepsi Artist of the Month Gourdan Banks, Grammy Award-winning artist Kendra Foster as well as Lamar Williams, Jr. and LUVK. It was hosted by hip-hop icon and media personality Ed Lover and featured an appearance by CeeLo Green, who gave away tickets to his Funk Fest performance tonight with Goodie Mobb.
Ed Lover
Atlanta notables spotted in the audience included Angel McCoughtry of the WNBA- Atlanta Dream, former NFL players Takeo Spikes and Carlos Emmons, Councilman Kwanza Hall, Dr. Yamma Brown (daughter of the late James Brown) and hundreds of live music lovers.
