Versatile actor Courtney B. Vance will star in Universal Pictures “The Mummy.” He reportedly joins Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson in a reboot of the 90’s classic. The film will also be the first in the studio’s new production endeavor that will expand and unify a network of classic monsters. Vance most recently starred in FX’s “The People vs O.J.Simpson” as the late, great Johnnie Cochran.  [DEADLINE]

Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be teaming up again for a reboot of “Jumanji.” Reportedly, the two actors are in serious talks to star in a modern version of the film based on Chris Van Allsburg‘s book. The 1995 hit film of the same name starred the late Robin Williams along with Kirsten Dunst and David Alan Grier and centered around a 12-year-old boy who becomes trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 26 years later. Hart and Johnson recently hosted the MTV Movie Awards and are starring in “Central Intelligence” due in theaters this June. [VARIETY]
