Actor’s Express will examine the infamous Atlanta Child Murders in a brand new work from Janine Nabers titled “Seriel Black Face.” The show will run from April 2-24.
“Serial Black Face” is a gripping drama set against the backdrop of the Atlanta Child Murders of the late 1970’s. It follows a single mother named Vivian who is coping with the disappearance of her young son while tirelessly trying to give her troubled teenage daughter a fresh start. When a handsome stranger enters her life with promises of new love, she soon learns that nothing is as it seems.
This award-winning play was named the winner of the 2014 Yale Drama Series by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman who said of the playwright, “Janine Nabers is an extraordinary writer – powerful and funny and brave.” Nabers is an alumna of the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition.
The show stars Tinashe Kajese, Drea Lewis, Kelli Winans, Brian Hatch and Jasmine Guy‘s daughter Imani Guy Duckette.
