“Born Again Virgin” star Tank and Grammy winning-trio Boyz II Men are scheduled to appear at this year’s Micah’s Voice Fundraiser to benefit families affected by autism. The event takes place on Sunday, April 10 at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, CA, and is hosted by The Late Show host James Corden.
This year’s fundraiser theme is titled “Back in the Day” and will honor Los Angeles Clipper Jamal Crawford, actor/comedian/producer Martin Lawrence with the Act of Kindess Award and Leaps n Boundz, an adaptive recreation program for children and young adults with special needs, with the Visionary Award. Honorees were selected for their selfless and invaluable efforts to enrich and support families affected by autism.
Micah’s Voice was founded in 2013 by Shawn and Sharhonda Stockman and provides much needed resources and financial support to families living with an autism diagnosis. After Micah, one of the Stockman’s twin sons was diagnosed with autism at an early age, they experienced firsthand how complex and expensive finding the proper resources and treatments for children with autism can be. Their own journey inspired them to help other families facing similar circumstances.
“It’s not just the child that’s affected by autism, the family is affected as well,” stated the Stockman’s. “And our mission is to help these families enjoy the best quality of life possible. “
