Congratulations to Grammy-winning songstress Toni Braxton and Lifetime!  Her “Unbreak My Heart” biopic, which aired over the weekend (Saturday, January 23), averaged 3.6 millions viewers.

According to VARIETY, viewership for the two-hour movie included 1.7 million adults 18-49 (1.3 rating) and 1.8 million adults 25-54 (1.5 rating). It was also cable television’s No. 1 original movie with adults 25-54, women 25-54 and women 18-49 since last year’s highly anticipated biopic WHITNEY, about the late music icon Whitney Houston.

“Unbreak My Heart” was based on Braxton’s published memoir of the same name and featured Alexis “Lex” Scott Davis as Toni along with HAHN star Gavin Houston as Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and veteran actress Debbie Morgan as the family martriarch Evelyn Braxton. The movie chronicled Toni’s rise to fame as well as her numerous financial woes and recent health challenges including her bout with Lupus. The film, which was executive produce by Braxton and Edmonds, was followed up by “Beyond the Headlines: Toni Braxton.”
