OWN’s new megachurch drama “Greenleaf” will debut this spring in a two-night premiere. The one-hour scripted series will begin May 24 & 25 at 10 p.m. and stars Oprah Winfrey.

“Greenleaf” centers on the journey of estranged daughter and disillusioned preacher Grace Greenleaf (Merle Dandridge) who has returned home after 20 years on the occasion of the mysterious death of her sister, Faith. As she reenters the world of Calvary Fellowship World Ministries, the Memphis megachurch run by her powerful parents, Bishop James Greenleaf (Keith David) and Lady Mae Greenleaf (Lynn Whitfield), it becomes evident that things are not as virtuous as they seem and that the family’s outward display of faith hides sin and misdeeds.

The series also stars Desiree Ross as Grace’s teenage daughter Sophia, Lamman Rucker as Grace’s brother Jacob Greenleaf, Kim Hawthorne as her sister-in-law Kerissa Greenleaf, Deborah Joy Winans as her sister and the church’s Minister of Music Charity Greenleaf-Satterlee and Tye White as Grace’s brother-in-law Kevin Satterlee.  Winfrey will star as Grace’s Aunt and nightclub owner Mavis McCready and Gregory Alan Williams as Grace’s Uncle Mac.

The first season of “Greenleaf” will air over 13-episodes and is written by Craig Wright. It also executive produced by Wright, Winfrey, Clement Virgo and Lionsgate Television.

Stay tuned…
