Comedian Tracy Morgan is gearing up to star in a new television pilot for FX.  The untitled show is written by Jordan Peele of “Key & Peele” fame and is being described as “a series about a career criminal who is released from prison after 15 years to find himself in a very different world.” This is Morgan’s the first project since his horrific 2014 car accident which left him in critical condition. Let’s hope this pilot is the sign of more good things to come for Morgan. [NEW YORK TIMES]

“Concussion” actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw will star as one of the leads in a new series for Netflix titled “Black Mirror.” The show is based on the British TV series and is described as “a hybrid of ‘The Twilight Zone’ and ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ which taps into our contemporary unease about our modern world, with the stories having a ‘techno-paranoia’ feel.” The series was created and written by Charlie Brooker and will also feature MacKenzie Davis. Boris Kodjoe has a new gig! The former “Soul Food” star will have a recurring role on CBS’s “Code Black” as Dr. Will Campbell. The character is being described as “arrogant and extremely competitive.” He will keep Raza Jaffrey‘s character Dr. Neal Hudson on edge as the two compete over who’s the better ER surgeon. Kodjoe is currently seen on “BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood.” [DEADLINE]
