I had the pleasure of attending a private screening of Fox’s new show “SuperHuman” Monday night at Einsteins Restaurant in Midtown-Atlanta. The two-hour special is hosted by actor Kal Penn and features 12 ordinary people who use their extraordinary skills to win a grand prize of $100,000. One of the contestants featured on the show was my friend and culinary maven Will Brown.
A native of New Orleans and a very well known chef in Atlanta, Brown’s taste buds were put to the test when he had to identify the missing ingredient in three different dishes prepared by “Master Chef” and judge Graham Elliott. Brown also had to impress the show’s celebrity panel including Mike Tyson, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Dr. Rahul Jandial.
A number of Brown’s close friends came out to support him including Grammy-nominated R&B singer, actress, and reality star Angie Stone, noted book author and playwright Craig Stewart and political blogger and contributing writer to EBONY Matt E. Stevens.

While Brown did not walk away with the grand prize, he did catch the attention of Fox producers and is currently in talks with the network about hosting a new show. He will also be featured on an upcoming episode of the Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay” and plans to open his own Atlanta-based restaurant “Creole Kitchen” in March.
