TWEET dishes about Faith, Music and the New Album, ‘Charlene’ (PHOTOS + VIDEO)

R&B’s “Southern Hummingbird” TWEET hosted an intimate CD Release Party Tuesday evening at Atlanta’s Artist Factory. The private event was attended by a number of Atlanta press and featured a variety of southern eats along with a playback of the new album, photo opportunities, an impromptu performance and a Q&A session conducted by media personality and HGTV star Egypt Sherrod.

It’s hard to believe but its been 10 years since TWEET has charmed us with that voice. After releasing two albums, she became listless with the music industry and decided to take a break. During this time she recharged her spirit by going back to her spiritual roots and re-dedicated herself to Christ. She also admitted that she stopped smoking, drinking and found real solace in her faith.

She also admitted to questioning whether or not she would return to music and often found herself vacillating between being “Charlene Keys,” the woman who loves to sing or “TWEET,” the Grammy nominated-performer. It was hard decision to make but one she knew she had to do. The new album, Charlene is the result of her “getting back to the person she was before becoming a music superstar.”

Check out her conversation below with Egypt regarding her journey back to music:

Tweet’s new album, Charlene drops January 22 and features a bevy of songs that I believe will satisfy her “die-hard” fans and new ones alike. Tweet says there are no “panty droppers” on this one but rather songs about life and real, true love.  Of all the new tracks, she relates the most to “I Was Created,” which is about finding your true calling and purpose.

Check out more pictures below from the event including some of Tweet’s celebrities friends like Andrea Kelly, Derek J, Kelly Price, Keith Robinson, Clifton Powell and others. Take a look below:
