As previously reported, the film is based on the real story of straight-A college student Jackie Turner, whose loneliness during the holidays drove her to post a heartbreaking want ad for a family. Instead of asking Santa, she posted her request in an ad on Craigslist.  Joining Amber in the ensemble cast is Matreya Fedor, Priscilla Faia, Ali Skovbye, Ken Tremblett and Jarod Joseph.

“Despite a horrific childhood filled with abuse and abandonment, Jackie Turner persevered and created a life of achievement and dedication to community service,”  said Barbara Fisher, SVP, original programming, UP.   “While the holidays still remind her of her struggles, they also remind her of how far she has come. My One Christmas Wish is the ultimate uplifting Christmas story, showing the true meaning of the holidays, the importance of family and the joys of giving back.”
