Another day, another biopic!  This time it’s a project about Motown’s fallen star Tammi Terrell and its being produced by actress, Tamala Jones.

According to S&A, the star of ABC’s hit series, Castle  is going behind the camera to produce a film about the beloved 1960s singer who captured America’s heart along with her musical partner, Marvin Gaye. The two appeared on such classic tunes “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing,” “Your Precious Love,” “You’re All I Need to Get By,” “If This World We’re Mine” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

Her tragic story has already been chronicled on TV One’s popular music series, Unsung and is also the subject of another film starring Vampire Diaries star, Kat Graham. RC reported about that one earlier this year.

Reportedly, Jones has the blessings of the Terrell’s estate and will begin shooting in 2016 with a script being written by Sylvia Jahshan.

So far no actress is attached to Jones’ project. However, now would be a good time for Empire’s Taraji P. Henson to star as Terrell considering she didn’t get to play her in the James Brown biopic Get On Up as was reported.  Henson also bares a striking resemblance to the late star and would be ideal for the part.

RC will keep you posted on these projects as they continue to develop.

What are your thoughts? Would you like to see Taraji portray Tammi Terrell?
