Rev. Al Sharpton‘s Triumph Awards has added more star power to this year’s ceremony. Oscar and Grammy-Award winning recording artist, John Legend, and beloved civil rights icon, Rev. Joseph Echols Lowery will be honored alongside recording artist and actor, Tyrese Gibson, Emmy-Award winning comedienne and actress, Wanda Sykes; and Chief Diversity Officer and Global Director of Education and External Relations for Intel Rosalind Hudnell.
Survivor’s Remorse star Tichina Arnold will serve as the host along with special performances by Jazmine Sullivan, Estelle, Ledisi, Tasha Cobbs and honoree, Tyrese Gibson. Celebrity presenters include Mayor Kasim Reed, Nicole Beharie, Soledad O’Brien, Syleena Johnson, Afemo Omilami, Richard Lawson and Patrik-Ian Polk. Grammy-winning pianist, Robert Glasper will serve as the show’s musical director.
As previously reported, the Triumph Awards recognizes individuals for outstanding career achievements and extraordinary contributions to society and is presented this year by the National Action Network and TV One.
The show will be filmed on Saturday, September 12 at Atlanta’s historic 200 Peachtree and will air exclusively on TV One in October. Congrats once again to all the honorees!!
