Rev. Al Sharpton to honor Wanda Sykes & Tyrese during NAN’s ‘Triumph Awards’

Here is further evidence that Atlanta, GA is truly the “Hollywood of the South.’ The good  Rev. Al Sharpton is bringing his National Action Network (NAN) 6th Annual Triumph Awards to the city and will air it exclusively on TV One.  According to S&A, Sharpton is teaming up with Cathy Hughes’ network for the award’s show first ever televised airing which will take place on Friday, October 10.

This year’s honorees include “Fast and Furious” actor and R&B crooner, Tyrese Gibson; comedian and actress, Wanda Sykes; Chief Diversity Officer and Global Director of Education and External Relations for Intel, Rosalind Hudnell and many more to be announced. The Triumph Awards recognizes individuals for outstanding career achievements and extraordinary contributions to society.

“I can’t think of a better broadcast partner than TV One for the first televised airing of the Triumph Awards,” remarked Rev. Al Sharpton. “The network’s track record in delivering quality programming that entertains and illuminates as well as reflects the principles NAN and the Triumph Awards celebrate is second to none and we are excited about this next step in our Triumph Award movement.”
