The stars of BOUNCE TV’s hilariously funny sitcoms “Family Time” and “Mann & Wife” attended screenings over the weekend during Steve Harvey’s Neighborhood Awards. Hundreds of fans from across the country packed the Sydney Marcus Auditorium of the GA World Congress Center for two hours of side-splitting humor and big laughs! The event took place Saturday morning and was presented by my friends at The BronzeLens Film Festival.

“Family Time” chronicles the lives of the recently relocated Stallworth family, guided by Tony (Gooding), a struggling general contractor and Lisa (Conwell), an unfulfilled stay-at-home mom. These high school sweethearts lovingly quarrel with each other and their mischievous children Devin and Ebony as they make up their own rules to love, marriage and family along the way. When they are not battling each other they are contending with a host of family, friends and neighbors, including Tony’s snobby older brother Todd (Chris Williams) and Lisa’s feisty sisters Rachel (Tanjareen Martin) and Lori (Paula Jai Parker), all set in the tight-knit suburban community of Windsor Hills.

RC with Dorien Wilson of In the Cut – airing August 25

“In the Cut” centers on Jay Weaver (Wilson) who owns several businesses in a strip mall in San Diego and spends most of his time working in his barbershop, Jay’s Chop Shop. Jay also co-owns a beauty salon a few doors away – Nadine’s Shop – named for his ex-wife (Harry) who still runs it. One day, a young man named Kenny Clark (Lawson) shows up out of nowhere claiming to be Jay’s 31-year-old illegitimate son from a short-lived fling. Kenny sticks around and begins to take on a role in the family business as he and Jay start to bond.  Jay’s long-time sidekick Clevon “Smitty” Smith (Jones) also works at the barber shop and adds to the comedy — as well as the occasional drama — that comes into their lives. The show premieres on Aug. 25.
