Urban League of Greater Atlanta honors Keke Palmer & more [PHOTOS]

It was all about youth empowerment during The Urban League of Greater Atlanta’s 5th Annual Spirit of the League Awards Luncheon on Friday afternoon. The event took place at the Twelve Hotel – Atlantic Station in the Midtown District.

Honorees: Hancy Adeclat, Domence Flannigan and Javon Gay

The Spirit of the League was created five years ago, to recognize individuals who have the courage and determination to empower themselves to break down barriers through hard work, focus and passion to achieve success and give back to their communities. The organization presented awards to four exceptional young men—Hancy Adeclat, Javon Gay, Rontavious Stovall and Domence Flannigan—along with actress and Broadway star, Keke Palmer.

The lunch program featured live musical entertainment from Fusion and was hosted by media personality Erica Byfield. Greetings and remarks were given by Event Chair, Otis Threatt; President and CEO of Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Nancy Flake Johnson,  Board Chair, Nick Nelson; Presenting Sponsor, Tony Kidd of Cox Media Group as well as a check presentation from State Farm Insurance.  Tri-Cities High School  group, The Naturals, performed a musical tribute to the honorees while Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves was on hand to present their awards.
