In March, we reported that August Alsina was starring alongside Jaden Smith in a new series titled, “Brothers in Atlanta.” At the time the project was being shopped to HBO. Well, now its official! The cable giant has ordered the half-hour comedy based on a redeveloped script by Lorne MichaelsDiallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin.

“Brothers in Atlanta” will focus on struggling entertainers and best friends, Langston Rodgers (Riddle) and Musa “Moose” Almuharib (Salahuddlin) as they try to navigate relationships and life in the “black Mecca” of Atlanta. Supporting the cast is former SNL actress Maya Rudolph, who will play Moose’s boss and Smith, who will play Langston’s shady neighbor. Comedic actor, Finesse Mitchell will also appear in the series as the archenemy of Moose. It’s still unknown who Alsina will portray in the series.

Tim Story is on board to direct the pilot.

Stay tuned…
