Congratulations to “black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross!  She picked up an honorary doctorate over the holiday weekend from her former alma mater, Brown University. The award-winning actress posted the exciting news on social media and her website with photos from the ceremony and the following caption:

“Call me Dr. Ross! I was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Brown University, my alma mater & I am humbled and thrilled! I know I’m not a real doctor but I won’t belittle this moment. 6 honorees chosen from everyone in every field of every age & race. I was the youngest and the only person of color this year!”

Ross also appears on the new cover of The Hollywood Reporter as part of the Annual Comedy Actress Emmy Roundtable Series. The issue also features Amy Schumer, Gina Rodriguez, Lena Dunham, Kate McKinnon and Ellie Kemper as they all give their two cents about Hollywood’s hypocrisy and hurdles.

Check out Ross’ video below where she talks about the origins of her “funny” bone…
