Indie Wire is reporting that TV One’s popular music and poetry series, “Lexus Verses and Flow” will return for its fifth season beginning July 30. The 8-episode season will feature such musical talents as Charlie Wilson, Jussie Smollett, Sevyn Streeter, Jazmine Sullivan, Melanie Fiona, Avery Sunshine, Leela James, and Chrisette Michelle. Also returning as series host is actor extraordinaire, Laz Alonso.
“TV One is excited to partner with Lexus for season five of the innovative series that captures the spirit of performance art with a purpose,” said Brad Siegel, President, TV One. “Verses and Flow is a project that not only captivates and entertains, but support the efforts of Historically Black Colleges and Universities to motivate and reward deserving college-bound students.”
This season also includes some exciting new features including the “Lexus Verses and Flow” app which delivers exclusive behind the scenes interviews and performances. Lexus is also reinstituting the “Lexus Versus and Flow Scholarship, where two HBCU students will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship in recognition of their community leadership and academic excellence.
