Atlanta’s own T.I. recently confirmed a sequel to his 2006 hit film, “ATL.” The hip-hop mogul posted photos of himself with some of the stars from the film including Lauren London, Evan Ross, and Jason Weaver. If you recall, “ATL” is loosely based on the life experiences of Dallas Austin and Tionne T-Boz Watkins of TLC and is directed by Chris Robinson. [TheYBF]

“Red Band Society” actress Octavia Spencer is gearing up to star in a role of biblical proportions. The Oscar winning-actress will play God in a film adaption of the book, “The Shack.”  The story follows Mackenzie Allen Philips who, after suffering a devastating personal tragedy, receives a mysterious note from God in his mailbox inviting him to a place called The Shack. He visits the shack where he actually does meet God, which begins a life-transforming journey of redemption. [Indie Wire]

The making of Mary J. Blige’s latest album is the subject of a new film that will premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. According to the festival website, “Mary J. Blige—The London Sessions” is a documentary that follows the singer’s creative process as she writes, records, and curates one of her most experimental albums to date. It also features a behind-the-scenes look at her work sessions with some of Britain’s hottest recording artists, including Sam Smith, Disclosure, Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy, and Sam Romans.
