Looks like R&B Phenom, August Alsina is making his acting debut in a new TV pilot with Jaden Smith titled “Brothers in Atlanta.” According to Alsina’s ILoveGram.com page, HBO is teaming up with Lorne Michaels and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” duo Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin for the new project. The show will center around struggling entertainers and best friends, Langston and Moose as they try to navigate relationships and life in the “black Mecca” of Atlanta.
In addition to executive producing the show, Riddle and Salahuddin will also star in it along with Maya Rudolph and Jaden Smith. Tim Story is on board as director. Unfortunately, Alsina didn’t indicate his role on the show or if the pilot has been picked up. This should be a good look for the 22-year-old singer who most recently opened for Usher’s 2014 tour and who picked up “Best New Artist” and “Coca Cola’s Viewer’s Choice” awards during last year’s BET Awards.
Stay tuned…
