BBC Films to Celebrate 25th Anniversary with Grace Jones Documentary

Indie Wire is reporting that BBC Films will celebrate its 25th Anniversary with a new documentary on the life of singer, actress, and fashion icon, Grace Jones. The film is one of 15 new projects chosen as part of the celebration and is being financed by BBC Films, BFI Film Fund and the Irish Film Board.

The film is titled “Grace Jones – The Musical of My Life,” and is being described as a multi-narrative journey through the private and public realms of the legendary singer and performer, mixing intimate personal footage with unique staged musical sequences. No further details have been released about the project.

Jones was a popular model of the 1970’s and 80’s that became a musical sensation with such hits as “Pull Up to The Bumper,” “Slave to the Rhythm,” “My Jamaican Guy,” and “Private Life.” She also starred in such hit film as “A View to a Kill” and “Boomerang.” She is also known for her outrageous style and over-the-top fashions.
