Next week, the Black Women Film Network will present its inaugural Black Women Film Summit on March 5-7, 2015 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and Spelman College.

The Summit opens on Thursday, March 5 with a screening at Spelman of the Season 4 premiere episode of Centric TV’s “Single Ladies” hosted by radio/TV personality Stacii Jae and “Why Did I Get Married” actor Lamman Rucker.

On Friday, March 6, Selma actress Charity Jordan will host an exclusive Master Class. Then, the popular “Untold Stories” Luncheon – hosted by comedian Jonathan Slocumb – will raise funds for college scholarships and honor film and television VIPs such as Will Packer (CEO – Will Packer Productions), Robi Reed (VP, Talent Casting – BET Networks), Lamman Rucker, Logan Browning (Actress – VH1’s “Hit the Floor”), Shante Bacon (CEO/Founder – 135th Street Agency), Tomika DePriest (BWFN Chair Emeritus), Tia Powell (Publisher – Georgia Film Source Book) and the Georgia Production Partnership. The day continues at the Marriott with a series of seminars and panels featuring various industry leaders.

Saturday, March 7 begins with more workshops along with the Black Women Film Festival – where 11 films will be screened – and the Black Women Book Festival Luncheon. Finally, the Summit concludes that evening with a Closing Night celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the film “Mahogany” and a special performance by recording artist and “Empire” actress V. Bozeman.
