Beyond all the trials, tribulations glitz and glamour of his lifestyle, he was a symbol for being fabulous, but, also, a symbol for unapologetically being who he was.

According to the press release, San Francisco Supervisor, Scott Weiner, will be presenting a proclamation for “Mighty Real Day: Honoring Sylvester & His Music” on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Sylvester’s star on the Castro Rainbow Honor Walk.

In attendance will be show creators, Anthony Wayne and Kendrell Bowman, the shows co-producer, Tony nominated actress, Sheryl Lee Ralph (DreamGirls) and the Mighty Real cast members Anastacia McClesky, Jacqueline B. Arnold, DeAnne Steward and Rahmel McDade along with Brava Executive Director, Anastacia Powers. Special invited guest will be Paul Boneberg of the GLBT Historical Society and more guests to be announced.

“I have said from day one how proud I am to be a producer of Mighty Real and being welcomed to San Francisco like this is such an honor,” says Ralph.  “I know right now somewhere in heaven Sylvester is strutting around saying ‘yes Diva yes!! Don’t you want to funk?!”
