Here are some new projects coming to NBC that are worth talking about…

According to Indie Wire, the network’s hottest series (pun intended) “Chicago Fire” is getting a spin-off titled, “Chicago Med” and will star “Whitney” actress Yaya DaCosta and “Law and Order” alum, S. Epatha Merkerson. Reportedly, DaCosta will play Maggie Seaver, an attractive nurse who dates “Chicago Fire’s” Kelly (Taylor Kinney) while Merkerson will play, Sharon Goodwin, the head of the hospital where the story is set. The characters will be introduced in episode 19 of the current season of “Chicago Fire.”

In other related casting news, Meagan Good is coming back to prime time as a Wall Street lawyer turned teacher in NBC’s “Mr. Robinson.” According to Indie Wire, Good is actually replacing Lenora Crichlow, as Victoria Wavers, an English teacher who works at the school where Craig Robinson’s character teaches. “Mr. Robinson” is being described as “a comedy about a musician turned teacher who must adjust the teacher politics and the temptations of single moms.”  Also attached to the project is Amandla Stenberg, who stars as a teacher who wants to sing and Larenz Tate, who portrays Robinson’s gigolo brother and partner in a band called ‘The Filthy Gentlemen.’

Look for Good to also appear in the NBC sci-fi drama, “Babylon Fields.”

Stay tuned…
