Rolling Out in conjunction with Steed Media Group presented the second live session of its new interactive web series titled “Star Studio” on Sunday evening. The event, which is reminiscent of “Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio,” featured an intimate one-on-one conversation between publisher Munson Steed and R&B vocalists, Musiq SoulChild and Jazmine Sullivan.
“I wanted to make soul music that hop-hop artists would sample” – Musiq SoulChild
During the interviews, the artists revealed how they got their start in the music industry. They also talked about the history behind some of their biggest hit records and some of the highs and lows of their careers. They also shared words of wisdom and some of the valuable lessons learned from music industry icons.

Following the interviews, the artists engaged in lively Q&A sessions with the audience. There was also a special performance from Epic Records recording artist, Curtis Fields, who sang a medley of Jazmine Sullivan tunes. Other special invited guests included RHOA stars Demetria McKinney and Don Juan; recording artists Rahbi, Mishon, Scarzeo; and Atlanta socialite, Bo Talley.
“I prefer to focus on my music and not the sales” – Jazmine Sullivan
“Star Studio” was created to uplift and inspire from an educational perspective and will begin airing in March. The first show features fashion designer, Angela Simmons and hip-hop’s breakout star, Rich Homie Quan. Check out more photos from last night’s sessions:
