ESSENCE has announced the honorees for this year’s “Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon”. The 8th annual VIP event, which recognizes the achievements of African-American women in television and film, will take place on Thursday, February 19 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson made the video announcement today along with the magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, Vanessa K. DeLuca.  This year’s recipients  include acclaimed actress and director, Regina King; famed costume designer, Ruth E. Carter; “Beyond the Lights” actress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw; and stars from the popular series, “Orange is the New Black” – Adrienne C. Moore, Danielle Brooks, Laverne Cox, Lorraine Toussaint, Samira Wiley, Vicky Jeudy and Uzo Aduba.

“The past year has been a game-changer for women in Hollywood.  We are creating, performing and calling the shots,” said De Luca. “By recognizing our leading ladies both in front of and behind the camera, ESSENCE ‘Black Women in Hollywood’ illuminates the ‘Power of our Presence.'”
